The Weekend ~ North Idaho Wedding Photography

Good Morning! The weekend is here! YAY! I am looking forward to a super fun wedding today! The weather is going to be gorgeous and hopefully not TOO hot! There’s a lot that goes into getting ready for a wedding…..cards cleared and formatted….batteries stocked (still on my check list..eek!)…..camera and lenses cleaned….schedules and lineups….so much to do! The list goes on and on…….I am pretty much ready, but the one thing that I desperately needed to do was to find something decent to wear! ACK! Not my specialty….sure I can dress sissy up cute as a bug…but myself…ACK!

So, I headed downtown Sandpoint yesterday to find something to wear….it’s been 2……maybe 3? years since I have bought an outfit that wasn’t a Cabela’s t-shirt or VS jeans or yoga pants! ha! If you didn’t know already, I am missing the fashion gene….all those genes went to my sister! I have to say it was OK…I am not really a clothes shopper..hence jeans and t-shirts…I am a grocery shopper…so WEIRD! I know….but hey….we all have our own special weirdness! It’s not that I don’t like to dress up in cute dresses and stuff…..it just isn’t me….or so I think. I always admire when other women have nice sun dresses on and I think how cute they look….then when I try to imagine myself in that outfit…my heart starts racing….I can’t breathe….and I am screaming inside…..NO! Not a dresssssssssss! Trust me…the thought quickly leaves my mind (forced out more like it)….and I am safe…….back to my shorts or yoga pants I go! Unfortunately for me, I don’t think I can swing beach shorts or yoga pants while professionally shooting a wedding! Psh! I know! Whatever.

So with kids in tow…YES! I am mentally insane taking my children clothes shopping……I went downtown and did find some cute outfits that I really liked at Zany Zebra and Finan McDonald yesterday….so I should be set for another 2…maybe 3 years! Now my mother can stop harping at me telling me “to buy something new! You wear that outfit to everything!”…(and I do)….but no longer mother! ha-ha! I got some new duds and I am stylin! I think? Well…my husband said the outfits looked good….but what does he know? He lives in Carharts…plumbers glue stained Carharts! (my favorite, but definitely not the most popular fashion trend)……AND he’s trained to compliment his wife! Well, there MIGHT have been some truth to it since he’s not sure what I look like dressed up being that I live in yoga pants, jeans, or shorts…..he possibly could have been shocked by a dress! Make that 3 dresses!….poor guy…..probably got overload. Oh well…..he will live…and so will I. After all…a dress isn’t so bad…right? I think I can…I think I can….oh what the heck…it’s way too hot out to wear pants….I know I can! And maybe…just maybe…I might have it documented….for the record….but don’t hold your breath!

Ok….enough of my clothing woes…..dress woes that is……back to the original purpose of this post……the weekend is here! YAY! Wishing you all an amazing weekend! Relax & enjoy! Cheers! xo

After this weekend, for so many reasons, I have much to be thankful for. I woke up in the WORST mood this morning…..but thankfully, it was nothing that a little bit of photo editing and Pandora can’t cure! I have tons of client sessions to edit…..but for right now….I really need these photos. Without my family….I can’t provide my clients with my best work…..so….with that said…..lucky you! I am sharing the 3 people that make me SO HAPPY….and I am so THANKFUL for!!! Then, it’s back to work for me!!! I have the most adorable baby waiting to be edited!!! Love babies!

I LOVE this man……and this photo……I LOVE his work boots, carhart pants, Bailey’s Plumbing sweatshirt, the backwards hat, and the fact that he is taking work calls on our camping vacation…..he never takes a minute off, always providing for us…….such a great man, husband, dad. My best friend.

I LOVE this little man…..his blond hair and blue eyes do me in every time…and he knows it. Such a mama’s boy….with a kind heart….but so full of spunk and bossiness…hmmm…I wonder where that comes from? He is growing up so fast…climbing 15-20 feet up a tree…playing with sticks in the fire….exploring……I don’t care how “big” he gets….he will always be my baby. And he will always make my heart pitter patter.

I LOVE this little girl…….her giant blue eyes and perfect little face…….covered in strawberry jam…..she is our sunshine. One time a lady called her “child of the light”, I am not sure what that means…..but she is our Light and so bright. She is sweet as pie and could be on comedy central…..her favorite saying lately is “silly mommy!”. You forgot my water silly mommy…..you forgot to get my snack silly mommy……you forgot to wipe my face silly mommy. A miniature Staci they say…..but all I see is BELLA….BEAUTY….BEAUTIFUL. She makes me so HAPPY!

I mean really? How could you NOT love her? Her Aunt Jen bought her a case of princess shoes….oops…silly mommy…I mean “glass slippers!” She wears them constantly even is she doesn’t have the match!

Sorry Bellie…..all the silly, goofy, quirky things are what I love most about you…..even your pouty poo poo faces! xo

Phew! I feel so much better now….amazing what a little gratitude will do! I hope you all have a FABULOUS day!!! xo

These last few weeks have been absolutely CRAZY! I have been seriously swamped….swim lessons – which we skipped today so I could get some work done…..bids, bills, and paperwork for my husband’s business……garden work, house work, and yard work………sessions, orders, editing, fb and blog posting……and most important of all….my wife and mommy job. Life is just getting away from me….I have lessened my photography work load quite a bit…..but with summer in full swing I don’t think it has done that much for me. I must say I am a little behind in getting sessions edited….but for good reason. I am a wife and mom first…photographer 2nd. And although I work like crazy trying to keep up, sometimes it just doesn’t work out that way. With that said, thank you! to all my recent clients for being so patient! This morning I got an email from an old friend….the manager of my college volleyball team….it was a song that he thought I would like……and I did. I liked it so much I wanted to share with you! It was a wonderful reality check for me……..I love it as a mom because every word rings so true…..and I love it as a photographer….because capturing different phases of your childrens life is so important….because “It won’t be like this for long”………

Five ~ North Idaho Childrens Photographer

Happy Friday! Yes…it’s been SO STALE around here lately….sorry about that….but stale blog means busy me! True…..school is out….but that doesn’t mean that life slows down…not one bit!…..with swim lessons going on….birthdays and Father’s Day this month….planning camping trips…..paper work for Bailey’s Plumbing……and lots of fabulous sessions…..life is still busy as ever! And now, for more bad news…..it’s going to be stale for a little bit longer…sorry folks! Next week should be better I hope!

Just a little something for today….the birthday boy! Tomorrow he is five. I can’t believe where the time has gone. I didn’t know about custom photography back when my angel bug was a baby….the ONE thing in life I regret over and over again….but I have to say at least the camera we bought took some decent pictures….and with a little bit of photoshopping I was able to actually make this photo look much better! I miss this little man SO MUCH!!! XOXOXO

But am enjoying who he is becoming….although just for one day I want to go back to when he was brand new. Brings tears to my eyes….doesn’t seem fair how fast it all goes….and then some days you think it isn’t going fast enough. An evil trick motherhood is. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Happy Birthday Big “O”!!! We are so proud of you and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you so much!!! You are a true joy and just when I don’t think I can love you any more….I do…and then some! Hmmmm ~ Sandpoint Childrens Photographer

A little bit of this and that today……

* Summer is right around the corner….I can feel it!!! I am really hoping the weather clears up this afternoon for a fun family session I have scheduled with the winner of the Fairytale give away, who just happens to be a friend of mine from high school! Can’t wait to meet her little guy!!!

* Last night, we had a family date night….went to 2nd Ave for pizza – our favorite!….and then to Starbucks for an after dinner treat!…BAD IDEA! I was up until 3:00 am this morning! OUCH! Then, off to see Shrek in the movie theater! It was the first time the kids have been to a movie so it was super fun!!! I told my husband he better stop and get tickets before dinner just in case we couldn’t get in!!! I know, I know sounds silly for a movie on a Wednesday night….but hey! The last time I went to a movie was 5+ years ago! I am a little rusty! Well….that certainly wasn’t the case because us four and two other girls had the entire movie theater to ourselves!!! ha! I guess nobody wanted to go to the movies in the middle of the week during a horrendous thunder/rain storm!!! No…just the Bailey Circus! But that was OK….we loved every minute of it!!! Even the power outage half way through! If you haven’t seen it, it really is an awesome movie!

* I finally added a facebook page for Bailey’s Plumbing Inc! I am not too sure my hubby is very excited about that…but, he leaves the computer work to me….so now he has a page! hee hee Please go over and give him some “love”….like him! He doesn’t know what “like” is….but I know he will appreciate it! And plus! You never know when you might need a plumber!

* Speaking of face book LOVE…..I am 10 itty bitty people away from having 600 “likers”! WOOT! So if you aren’t a liker yet, please stop on over and like my page! Another give away coming once I hit 600!!!

* I have seriously been neglecting my garden lately. Neglecting a lot of things actually. And not even sure why I am posting that….but just getting it out makes me feel better. Odd I know.

* OK…speaking of neglecting things….my kitchen is on that list….so I better get going…..have some house to clean and a newborn session to finish up!!!

* Last one…..I am really into the smiley’s today…could you tell?

Camping ~ Spokane Photographer

Earlier this year, I met the awesome “B” family when they came into Fairytales during the Winter Carnival. We chatted a bit about my photography and if I do on-location photo sessions – they were looking for an on-location photographer to come and capture their family with their new camper on a camping trip! Are you kidding? I LOVE camping too and thought that was an awesome idea!!! So they signed up for a photo session that night! Two weekends ago was one of their first camping outings of the year and we scheduled our session to capture them with their prized Airstream camper and just to document “life”. Camping is what they do as a family and they enjoy it so much…..I think it was the perfect setting for family photos! Their two little girls are just darling and were champs during our entire session! Thank you “B” family for taking time out of your camping trip and having me capture your family! Little Fish ~ Sandpoint, Coeur d’ Alene, Spokane Children’s Photographer

A while back I saw the Professional Photographer Magazine 2010 Cover Photo Contest was taking place and thought it would be fun to enter….at the time I had no idea what in the heck to enter….I have so many favorites and in reality……I am a small fish in a very large pond! But I thought what the heck I might as well have some fun and do it!!! Yesterday, looking at my calender I realized the deadline to enter a photo is June 1st!!! ACK! I spaced that one….but luckily it’s not too late!! After going through my photos over and over again…..I kept coming back to this image. Not sure why……probably because she’s mine…..and BEAUTIFUL…..and those eyes just grab a hold of me whenever I see this picture. Just since last night there have been 140 views to her photo and 27 ratings!!….so THANK YOU if you are a facebook fan…uh, I mean “liker”……and went and voted for my picture!!!
