It’s almost April!!! Are you ready??? I am! In fact I can’t wait! I have so much planned for the next couple months and I think you will be very interested in what’s going on over here at Staci Bailey Photography! Other than I am uber cool….NOT! he he…..I am going to be having a ton of specials coming up!!! Call me crazy…..or it might be my new workout program INSANITY!…….but whatever it is, I am so ready to kick it in gear! So to kick off spring and to lift my mood from this snowy, rainy, icky, cold day…….I think it’s time for another Daisy Deal!!! At the beginning of this month I did a maternity session followed shortly by a newborn session and LOVED them both! So, for the month of April I am doing a 2 for 1 Daisy Deal……book a maternity AND newborn session for the price of one!!! The maternity session MUST be booked for the month of April to qualify…..and if you order a digital collection, you can pick from either session! The Letter “L” ~ Sandpoint newborn photographer

***Just updating my post so I can enter the i heart faces contest this week for dramatic black and white photos!!! I absolutely LOVE this photo…..maybe because I love my new 100mm??? OR maybe because this 2 week old is SO DANG CUTE!!! With the most perfect lips!!!! I pick all of the above! Yesterday I got to go and play with my new macro lens with this darling little newborn! I LOVED every minute of it! I miss those first months with my first born….they were magical and wonderful…sometimes I wish I could enjoy those days with him all over again…….EVERYTHING about a newborn is darling I think…..they are so tiny and precious! I just love their little button noses….their furry backs….their tiny little hands and feet…..and their beautiful perfect little lips! Speaking of lips…..I took this picture yesterday and thought it would be perfect for my alphabet challenge! So for today……

Taking Care of Business ~ Priest River Photographer

Last weekend I went over to Priest River to get some group photos of some awesome girls……The Priest River Girls Basketball Team…….who just won state!!! What an amazing accomplishment!!! Going to state in any sport is great….BUT WINNING STATE? Oh yeah….these girls totally ROCK! AND this is something they will have with them for the rest of their lives! CONGRATULATIONS ladies!!!!

I had so much fun taking these photos….the location was STUNNING…….and there’s nothing better than a team of girls that likes to be silly and have fun! AND it’s even sweeter when one of those girls is your cousin! I just have to gloat for a minute about my cousin Melissa H……she is an AMAZING athlete! This year alone for basketball she was the League Player of the Year AND the MVP of the State Championship Game!!! Woot! Woot! Good job Melissa! But you know as well as I do…..it takes a TEAM of many talented girls and a great coach to win! So without further delay….here is a sneak peek of our session…..the Priest River Girls Basketball State Champions!!!!!

WOW! They look really mean here…..ready to whoop some butt (which they did)……and they look like fierce competitors (which they are)…….

But, they are also a great group of fun, spunky girls!!!! Thank you everyone for an amazing and fun session!!!!

“B” is for BEAUTIFUL ~ North Idaho Childrens Photographer

This time last spring I was participating in two on line classes and absolutely LOVED them! I could and would take classes all the time if I had a few extra bucks and a few extra hours a day! This spring I passed on some classes as I have been saving up to attend the Baby as Art workshop…..which I will be attending next month in California!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am! It is going to be AMAZING! So with my heart set on only one workshop this year, I decided to join a couple forums to help keep me motivated and start thinking outside the box……help me tap into some of my creative juices……..now I am just wishing I had more time to enjoy the forums! One forum that I love is called Clickin Moms and they are having an ABC challenge right now where you submit photos that look like the letters of the alphabet or have something to do with the letters of the alphabet. From the beginning of the year I wanted to do a 52 week challenge…but just didn’t find the time….so this challenge looks perfect! Just a month instead of an entire year! So……keep an eye out as I will be posting my ABC challenges here also! I won’t be doing them in order…..just as I find them! So for my first challenge…….the letter “B”………..

Picked this sweater up at Bullfrogs and Butterflies yesterday…..I think it is size 12-18 mo……but I didn’t care because I loved it and sissy was just small enough to fit into it…….she looks just perfect to me!

Playing Around…

Today started out a little slow and sluggish for me….but has been improving by the hour! About an hour ago the UPS man came to my house and delivered my newest baby….the 100mm macro lens! I have been wanting this lens for quite some time now…..and finally it is in my bag for keeps! This lens is so amazing! I can’t wait to try it out on a ton of different things….but for today….the munchkins were my victims……muwahahaha! But hey….we just bought a bunch of girl scout cookies so it wasn’t too hard to persuade them to sit still for 5 minutes! This macro lens takes pictures up close….I mean REALLY up close! It can capture the tiny details straight out of camera without having to crop the original photo which can result in losing some of the resolution. It is going to be GREAT for baby and wedding photos……just perfect for getting all those tiny little details to remember! Plus, it comes with an image stabilizer that helps in getting that extra sharp photo! Just a few for today….I was about 6 inches from their faces, shot these wide open, and you can see that the depth of field is very, very shallow at f2.8…just how I like it!

Miss Bella……I dread the day she asks to wear mascara!

Peek! I know, I know…..you are probably thinking what I am thinking….close up of eyes are kind of creepy…..but I just had to share this one…..I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being this close and seeing every detail and color of her beautiful eyes! You can see how shallow the depth of field is with her eye being in focus and her lashes right above it being out of focus…..all right I am done……I will stop the shop talk…..hee hee.

And the Big “O”….sigh….some day those lashes are going to mesmerize a girl….oh wait…they already do!…..ME!

Baby Lillian ~ North Idaho Newborn Photographer

Remember this dreamy girl????? Meet BEAUTIFUL baby Lillian! I took this sweet little angels photos a couple weeks ago and had the best time!!! Her mama and daddy are the sweetest!! Auntie, grandma, & grandpa too!!! Everyone was so helpful at our session and so laid back! It was great! This little girl sure is LOVED!!! She was just a doll to photograph and I really can’t express how much fun I had! Thank you so much Dana and Kyle for letting me take Lillian’s photos!!! Also….thanks so much for your patience!!! Here is a sneak peek for you……I hope these were worth the wait!!!

And…….she’s had enough of this picture taking nonsense!!! Goodbye photographer….let me sleep!

Just for fun ~ North Idaho Wedding Photographer

A couple weeks ago my friend and fellow photog Jackie from Jax-Creations contacted me about putting together a bridal fashion shoot just for fun…..of course I said YES! You don’t have to ask me twice! Unfortunately, I had to let her know that as great as it sounded, I was so busy with our tax paperwork that I wouldn’t be able to help much…..apparently the secretary for Bailey’s Plumbing Inc DID NOT stay on top of things last year as well as she should have….can you say SLACKER????…..anyway…..being a slacker came back to bite me…..uh….I mean…..I really had to scold that secretary and clean up her mess! So with all of this drama unfolding…..I just couldn’t dedicate any time to putting the bridal fashion shoot together. Jackie said that was OK with her and STILL invited me to come along! THEN she bought all of us dinner after the shoot!!! What a gal! Jackie put so much time into this shoot….and everyone that participated was AMAZING! Gorgeous flowers….awesome hair and makeup….and super BEAUTIFUL models…..it turned out just FABULOUS!

Thank you so much Jackie for inviting me along!! I had so much fun!!!! Just a few for today…..more to come later!
